There are so many sites, how can I make mine stand out?

How long does it take?
It depends on the complexity of the website, the number of photos, images, linked pages, and many more variables.
I don't want to spend a lot of money.
You don't have to. You don't need to register a domain name or host a site to have Internet presence. Many times, web space is included with your Internet service account. Often you will have a folder or web files located off the server name of your provider. You can contact your Internet service provider to find out if this is available to you.
I already have a site.
Great! Then you are already experiencing the benefits of Internet presence. Are you too busy to update your site? Maybe it is time for new photos, or updated content.
I don't have time to build a site.
You can build even a basic site by providing me with existing company logos, photos and even text from a business brochure or flyer. Leave the rest to me!
What kinds of photos can I use?
Any photo can be used as long as the file format is JPG or GIF. If you don't have photos and images in this format, I can convert them or scan them for you. Typically, photos in JPG or GIF format are at a lower resolution than print format because they allow for faster download times.
Can I make changes to my site?
I would be happy to make changes to your site for you. If you prefer to make your changes on your own, we can discuss software options to do so from your business or home computer.

A domain name represents your "address" on the Internet. It is a unique name that you choose and register that usually ends with .com, .org or .net. For example, my domain name is melanie-rice.com.

Domain names can be easily registered with many online services. Different pricing is available with different services. Try typing it in to your web browser!

Do I have to register a domain name to have a website?
No. Many times web space is included with your Internet service account. Often you will have a folder for web files located off the server name of your provider. For example, www.serviceprovider.com/users/yourfiles. Contact your ISP to find out if you have this option. This means, however, that you won't have a specific site with a domain name that you choose.
